Events & Programs
Bethel’s largest event is our twice-a-year Pig Pickin’, hosted every April and October. With slow-cooked NC barbecue and plenty of sides, the Pig Pickin’ unites our membership to bless our community. All proceeds are shared with those in need in our area.
The United Society of Friends Women affords the ladies of our congregation a chance to unite behind a variety of needs and projects.
The men of Bethel meet for breakfast every fifth Sunday for conversation and fellowship.
A very active Christian Education Committee encourages a youth-led service every fifth Sunday. This committee is also involved in planning numerous activities during the year, including meals and social events.
The Friends Disaster Service offers a chance for members to participate in recovery efforts by helping those affected by natural disasters across the country.
Jamaica Missions, and the Friends Center for Native Americans (based in McIntosh, AL), occupy our commitment to missions, along with continuing work teams who visit Mexico.
Quaker Lake, a summer camp and conference center near Julian, NC, provides opportunities for our youth, and hosts our annual gathering of Friends at Yearly Meeting in August.
